A lot of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts at a tweet to emerge from journalist Mark Douglas on the club’s transfer business.

The Magpies are yet to sign anyone this summer, but following the latest takeover setback, Douglas feels the club must now plan for the upcoming season.

He said: “Now we know #nufc isn’t going to happen before the transfer deadline, they need to [get] moving, -wise.

“I make it two midfielders, striker & possibly a centre-back short. [Joe] Willock needs to be done, asap.”

Will NUFC sign Willock this summer?

Newcastle have been heavily linked with a possible summer swoop for Arsenal’s Joe Willock after the midfielder spent the back-end of the 2020/21 campaign on loan at the Toon.

Toon fans flocked to the tweet from Douglas to share their frustrations at the club’s lack of transfer activity so far in this summer’s market.

What exactly did these Newcastle fans have to say?

“No one is coming, we’re just replicating Sunderland, riding our luck year in year out, before the inevitable.

The arbitration case set to start this month regarding the Premier League’s handling of the proposed Saudi takeover has now been confirmed to start next year.

Going by the reaction of these Newcastle fans, it is clear to sense their frustration regarding the events surrounding the club at the moment, and a lack of transfer activity will not be helping.
