Newcastle United fans have been reacting to news surrounding Joelinton coming out of their pre-season friendly against York City.
Steve Bruce’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat to the National League North side, but there was more to come out of the game than just the score.
Early in the game, forward Joelinton was forced to come off with an injury, although Bruce was quick to stress after the match that it was not the same thigh problem that troubled him towards the end of last season and insisted that it was just a precaution.
The Brazilian hasn’t had the greatest of times up on Tyneside, only scoring 10 goals in his 80 appearances for the club – a bit of a disappointment considering the reported £40m that they initially forked out for him.
And that frustration seemed to come out when the news spread on social media about his injury, with some thinking that it might be time to move on from him:

Should Newcastle get rid of Joelinton this summer?
Yes

No

This might be a little bit of a knee-jerk reaction, although if he doesn’t improve his goalscoring record soon, then it might be time to give calls to sell him some serious consideration.
