A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest update to emerge in their ongoing takeover saga.
It has been revealed the Premier League have been granted an extra week in their anti-competition case with Newcastle as the claim is now expected to begin on July 12.
Will the reported takeover happen this summer?
According to The Chronicle, the Premier League have been granted the extension to file and serve their evidence in defence against Mike Ashley’s camp.
Ahead of the announced delay, the Premier League had already been accused of “delay tactics” by the husband of Amanda Staveley – who is leading the consortium reportedly interested in taking over the Tyneside club.
Toon fans flocked to a tweet from NUFC 360 relaying the news to show their frustration in the latest setback in their reported takeover saga.
What exactly did these Newcastle fans have to say?
“Did the Premier League do no preparation during the previous 30 delays because they expected the CAT to just throw it out because they said so…??? Corrupt as can be…”
“If they have done nothing wrong why do they keep delaying it just present your evidence to prove your point! Because it’s one big cover-up with the so called big 6 pulling the PL strings, it stinks to high heaven”
