Many Newcastle United fans have been talking about an image involving Callum Wilson that emerged on social media recently.
The official Newcastle United Twitter account recently posted an image of Wilson on social media, suggesting that the Englishman is back for the club’s pre-season training ahead of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.
Is Wilson NUFC's best player?
Yes
No
The 29-year-old striker hadn’t featured for the Magpies in the last three games of the 2020/21 campaign, as he had suffered a hamstring injury. Before that, he had scored a brace against Leicester City.
But the image involving Wilson drew the attention of many Newcastle fans, who made their views clear about their club’s striker.
What did NUFC fans make of this image?
“Just like a new signing.“

In the 2020/21 season, Wilson had suffered multiple injury problems, mainly with his hamstring, which had hampered him before his arrival on Tyneside. Despite the injury issues, he still managed to score 12 times in 26 league games for the club.
According to WhoScored, only two Newcastle players picked up a higher rating than the striker. It shows Wilson’s importance to Steve Bruce’s side and with the club yet to sign Joe Willock permanently, a lot of the goalscoring burden might be on Wilson’s shoulders.
So Newcastle fans have every reason to be happy about this image involving the striker.
