Mike Ashley is set for one of the biggest months of his tenure at Newcastle United with both the anti-competition case and arbitration expected to come to fruition this month, and Liam Kennedy of the Shields Gazette has claimed that Ashley thinks he has a great chance of beating the Premier League.

It is set to be just another waiting game for Newcastle fans who have been put through the motions over the last 12 months as they appeared close to being rid of Ashley, only for the consortium to pull out of a potential deal.

Will Newcastle have new owners next season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Luke Edwards of The Telegraph has recently claimed that Ashley is only going through all this legal action to make fans think he is trying to sell the club and won’t have to put any money into the club for transfers.

Despite people appearing to all have different points of view and sources, Liam Kennedy believes that Ashley thinks he has a great chance of pulling this off and getting the takeover eventually passed through, as he told This is Futbol:

I think he does have a chance, and the noises we’ve been hearing for months now is that he thinks he’s got more than a chance, they really believe they’re going to win this.”

Newcastle fans know not to get their hopes up after being let down several times thinking they were set to enter into a new and successful dawn, but many believe this could be different if Ashley’s legal team can beat the Premier League in court.

As it stands, Ashley will still be at the helm come next season, even if the takeover can be pushed through, it’s unlikely that any new owners would be in place to have an impact on this transfer window.
