Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has been speaking on Robbie Lyle’s YouTube channel to discuss all things relevant to this summer’s transfer market.

The Italian discussed Liverpool’s current business so far in this window and discussed the rumours surrounding a potential move for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Adama Traore.

Speculation has surrounded the 25-year-old so far this transfer window, with Leeds United also said to be interested in potentially bringing him to Yorkshire this summer.

The Spanish international struggled last season to reach the high standards he set throughout the 2019/20 Premier League campaign (via Transfermarkt).

Discussing where Traore’s future may lie this summer, Romano had the following to say.

“The links about Liverpool is just because Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the player. He thinks he will be perfect for Liverpool.

“But at the moment, I’m told that there are still no negotiations between Liverpool and Wolves – basically, because Liverpool want to sell players; they need to sell players.”

TIF Thoughts on Traore to Liverpool…

Despite coming off the back of a disappointing 2020/21 Premier League campaign, we think this is a move that could make a lot of sense for the Reds.

The Anfield side are expected to be without both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah in January with the wingers playing in the Africa Cup of Nations.

With this in mind, we think the Spaniard could provide a good option for Jurgen Klopp in the absence of the duo given Traore’s existing Premier League experience.

However, it will likely come down to what Wolves would be willing to accept for their star man, who has been previously valued at £50m by the side from Molineux.
