Thiago Alcantara was a bargain at £25m when Liverpool captured his signature last year, but the Spanish midfielder endured a tough first season in the Premier League.
Whilst having a tough start to life on Merseyside, the Liverpool midfielder and footballing world know what an incredible player he is, with former Liverpool player Paul Stewart telling This is Futbol: “He’s highly thought of, I know that”.
Whilst finding himself starting from the bench for Spain, Thiago will return to club football relatively fresh and will be hoping that with a good pre-season behind him, he will have a regular starting birth in Jurgen Klopp’s side, something that Paul Stewart knows the player will want.
“It’s all about minutes on the pitch and what you do in them minutes.
“He’ll (Thiago) be hoping that he gets more minutes and hoping that he can prove he’s a stayer”.
