Marcelo Bielsa is still yet to sign a new deal to keep him at Elland Road but on The Phil Hay Show, the Leeds journalist explained what is going on with the manager’s future.

This is now the longest amount of time Bielsa has spent with any other club during his managerial career as he appears set to embark on his fourth season with Leeds United and his second in the Premier League.

Will Bielsa stay at Leeds?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

There have been a lot of reports suggesting that it is only a matter of time before Bielsa commits his future for at least another 12 months to the Whites with the new season now only four weeks away.

Hay explained on the latest episode of his podcast with The Athletic about what things are looking like behind the scenes.

“There was never any doubt last summer, it was all just about getting it done and again, this time around, he hasn’t signed it but there’s no fundamental issue there.

“It’s just sorting out the crossing the Ts, dotting the Is, as you always have to do with Bielsa.

“I don’t doubt that at some point, we’ll get an announcement for at least another 12 months. He does seem extremely locked into this more so than ever.”

TIF thoughts on Bielsa’s contract situation…

It would be nothing short of a disaster if Leeds weren’t able to tie Bielsa down to a new deal, with his training methods and ability to squeeze every ounce of talent out of his players is what has got Leeds to where they are now.

Leeds have had some odd players over the last ten years but how well do you remember them. Starting with the most recent one, who is this?

The pull he has as a manager to attract players such as Raphinha, Rodrigo and Diego Llorente is a huge factor for the Whites, but with him having come this far already, it would be a quick U-turn to see him walk away from Elland Road.
