Journalist Joe Donnohue has recently talked about Leeds’ potential move for Wolves star Adama Traore.
It has been reported that Leeds are interested in signing the Wolves winger, with the Spaniard’s future uncertain at the club. It had previously been suggested that the winger is considering leaving Wolves and he sees the idea of becoming a regular at Leeds as a solution for his future.
Should Leeds move for Traore?
Yes
No
Donnohue appeared in a live video on the Leeds United Live Facebook page and a fan asked about the club’s interest in Traore. The journalist stated that it is unlikely that the player ends up at Leeds and Victor Orta doesn’t consider it to be a ‘prudent’ move.
He said: “What I will say is that it’s probably not a move which is very prudent in the eyes of Victor Orta or Marcelo Bielsa. He’s high energy, but in bursts – not over a 90-minute stint. I think we saw that at Wolves, Nuno [Espirito Santo] didn’t play him all the time, especially over the last year. I think that’s one that we can shelve; I think we can file that one in the extremely, extremely unlikely category.”
TIF Thoughts on Traore to LUFC…
Traore has certainly shown that he can contribute to goals regularly, even though the 2020/21 season wasn’t too impressive in that respect. But in the past, he has shown his quality in the Premier League.
As things stand, Leeds do have as many as four options in the wide positions. The club has also been linked with a move for Noa Lang as well, so they could have more options in the wide areas soon.
Traore might be proven at Premier League level, but the Whites are already well-stocked in the department that he’d occupy, so they should perhaps focus on improving other areas of the pitch.
