Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news to come out of the Yorkshire club.
This comes after Leeds journalist Phil Hay shared a post on his official Twitter page revealing that Whites goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has joined Spanish club Elche on a season-long loan, which the club have also confirmed.
This post from Hay then caught the attention of a lot of Leeds supporters who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest news.
So, what did these Leeds fans have to say in response to this post from Hay about Casilla?
“Good riddance”
“Bye then”
“Great news, now let’s get a better backup to Meslier.”
“Hallelujah. There is a god”
“Welcome back, Phil! And with such encouraging news”
“What a way to return. thanks Phil”
“Be finally glad to see the back of him”
“Phil back with a crowdpleaser”
Looking at the replies to this latest post from Hay, it’s clear to see that these Leeds fans are glad to see the back of Casilla after his loan move to Elche was announced.
Do you think Casilla will ever play for Leeds again?
Yes
No
Given how the 34-year-old managed to concede 61 goals in 62 appearances for Leeds during his time at the club and caused a big controversy in February 2020 when he was found guilty of racially abusing Charlton Athletic forward Jonathan Leko back in September 2019, it’s understandable why these Leeds fans are glad to see the shot-stopper leave the club.
In our view, the fact that his current Leeds contract is set to expire in 2023 and that he has now gone out on loan says to us that he doesn’t have much of a future at Elland Road.
