Leeds United fans have been reacting to claims surrounding a bid for Sampdoria and Denmark midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard.
Recent reports (Calcio Mercato, via Yorkshire Evening Post) have claimed that Leeds United were showing an interest in gaining the 21-year-old’s signature this summer, and now it appears as though that interest could be taking another step forward.
A report from La Repubblica (via Il BiancoNero), has claimed that Leeds United have made contact with the Italian side over his signature, with Marcelo Bielsa’s men reportedly facing some competition for his signature from fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
The Serie A side reportedly want €30m (£25.6m) to make the deal happen.
Will Leeds get this deal done?
“Damsgaard? Yes please. He showed at the Euros how much of a baller he is. Hesitant to trust Italian media after the debacle with Nandez, so not getting too excited atm. Would love him.”
And after 15 goals and 25 assists in his career at such a young age on top of some rather impressive performances at this summer’s European Championships, it’s hardly surprising to see them this happy at the news.
Now it’s just a case of whether or not he’ll be able to live up to the hype if they are able to complete the deal.
