Leeds United journalist Beren Cross has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of the Yorkshire club potentially striking a deal to sign Valerenga goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson this summer.

This comes after Cross made an appearance on a recent episode of The Blue White and Yellow Podcast where he spoke about a range of topics concerning Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is but how many did he score?

On the subject of Leeds’ interest in Klaesson, Cross had this to say on the matter.

He said: “Clearly they need a goalkeeper, [Kiko] Casilla is gone now, would think he’s probably kicked his last ball for Leeds, and they need to get somebody in and it looks like the Norwegian lad is probably the one that they will go for.

“We don’t know if it will happen but clearly all the omens are pretty positive.”

Klaesson, who is a product of Valerenga’s youth system, made his senior debut for the Norwegian club back in April 2018.

Overall, the 20-year-old, who is currently valued at £450k according to Transfermarkt, has made 56 appearances for Valerenga across all competitions.

TIF Thoughts on Beren Cross’ comments on a potential Leeds move for Klaesson…

Given how, as Cross mentioned, Leeds recently sent Kiko Casilla out on a loan move to Spanish club Elche until the end of the season, it makes sense for the club to try and bring a new goalkeeper such as Klaesson in if they don’t feel that the Spaniard has a future at Elland Road.

Would you like to see Leeds sign Klaesson this summer?

However, taking into account how the Norwegian has managed to concede 76 goals during his 56 appearances for Valerenga and the fact that he has only managed to keep 13 clean sheets in the process, perhaps the club should be looking at a better-quality shot-stopper to come in this summer.
