Michael Ball believes Everton are open to offers for Yerry Mina – with the club potentially looking to replace the Colombian with Kalidou Koulibaly.

New Toffees boss Rafa Benitez, who was named as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor last month, worked with Koulibaly during his time in charge of Napoli and has been keen to prise the central defender away from the Italian club.

Everton reportedly submitted an opening bid for the Senegalese star last week but Napoli chief Luciano Spalletti has reiterated he is not willing to sanction a move.

Former full-back Ball thinks Mina could be shown the exit door to free up more funds to persuade Napoli to do business.

Mina is Everton’s joint-highest earner at Goodison Park, with two years remaining on his £120,000-per-week contract.

Ball feels the Colombia international could attract sizeable interest and a lucrative fee if Benitez puts the £120,000-a-week man up for sale three years after joining from Barcelona.

Speaking exclusively to TIF, Ball said: “I can see Mina going if Koulibaly comes in.

“I feel, with the big wages and also his international image, Everton could probably demand a decent fee which could go towards new signings.”
