Speaking exclusively to This Is Futbol, former Everton striker Marcus Bent believes Wolves’ Pedro Neto would be a brilliant signing for the Toffees.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the 21-year-old winger has admirers at the Merseyside club.
Last season, he scored five goals and provided six assists in 31 league appearances before his campaign came to an abrupt end due to a knee injury.
Would you be devastated to see Allan go?
Would be gutted
He can go
Nevertheless, it was still a good season for Neto, who won a lot of plaudits for his displays, including from Premier League legend Alan Shearer.
On the £31.5m-rated Portugal international, Bent said:
“He can play out wide, he can play down the middle, scores goals as well. I think that’s the key at the minute, quick winger, cannot just score goals, he’s got a good pass on him; he’s got a good through ball.
“He’s done well at Wolves. To bring him in at Everton at that age would be brilliant.”
Indeed, Neto looks like he would be a good addition for Everton, especially if they end up losing Richarlison in the near future.
The Brazilian has been linked with a Goodison Park exit following Carlo Ancelotti’s departure, with there being some talk about the two potentially reuniting at Real Madrid. Any move for Neto, though, could be complicated due to that serious injury he picked up.
