Journalist Dean Jones has recently talked about the future of Everton star Richarlison.

Richarlison joined Everton from Watford in the summer of 2018 for a fee of £50 million. It has recently been reported that Carlo Ancelotti has contacted the Brazilian regarding a potential move to Real Madrid this summer as he is keen on working with the forward once again.

Jones appeared on the latest episode of Touchline Talk, where he focused on Richarlison and his future at Goodison Park. The journalist stated that Everton were expecting to lose Richarlison this summer, and predicted that the Brazilian might well be gone in the next 12 months.

He claimed: “They kind of expected to lose Richarlison this year, partly. That might now be delayed for a little while, but Richarlison will probably be gone in the next year. So maybe they need to start transforming there.”

TIF Thoughts on Richarlison’s future…

It has been stated that Ancelotti’s talks with Richarlison were informal but it remains to be seen whether they could evolve into a formal offer in the future. So that should be alarming for Everton, as it points to the possibility of them losing the player this summer.

Having said that, the player’s contract at Goodison Park runs out in the summer of 2024 and that should help Everton earn a high fee from his potential sale. And since the 24-year-old joined the club for a pretty high fee anyway, Everton should look for a fee which will be in excess of £50 million, or they could end up making a loss in the deal.
