Journalist Adam Jones has recently talked about Everton players that aren’t part of pre-season training yet.
New Everton boss Rafael Benitez has now taken his first training session as the club’s manager, as the players returned to training on Monday.
Jones appeared on the latest episode of the Royal Blue podcast and spoke about pre-season training and the current setup, claiming that four players could return in the next few days, having been working from home due to quarantine regulations.
Will Everton challenge for Europe next season?
He said: “Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Moise Kean and Bernard are the four players at the minute who haven’t returned to Finch Farm yet. They’ve been given some individual sessions to complete at home by Everton because they’re currently quarantining. They’ve come back over the summer from countries that require an isolation period, thanks to the current regulation.
“So they’re still working from home at the minute and just completing individual programs. We’re expecting them to be drip fed back into the squad at Finch Farm over the coming days, we were told.”
TIF Thoughts on Everton pre-season training…
Doucoure had contributed to five goals from midfield in the 2020/21 campaign, while Allan was Everton’s best tackler in the season (as per WhoScored).
Moise Kean was on loan at Paris Saint-Germain but the Italian was impressive in the campaign for the Ligue 1 giants, as he scored 17 goals in all competitions for the club. He scored multiple times in the Champions League (as per Transfermarkt).
These are clearly important players for Everton and having them back in training should be a priority for the Toffees.
