Everton pundit and podcaster Barry Cass has been sharing his thoughts on Toffees midfielder Allan and his future at Goodison Park.

This comes after Cass made an appearance on a recent video from the Toffee TV YouTube channel where he spoke about a range of topics concerning the Merseyside club.

Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

On the subject of Allan and his future at the club, Cass had this to say on the matter.

He said: “For me, I would keep him because I think he’s a tone-setter and I think Benitez might actually get more, not more out of him because I think he loved playing for Carlo Ancelotti, but I think the structure that Rafa Benitez tends to have in a team might actually benefit Allan a bit more.”

Everton signed Allan back in the 2020 summer transfer window from Italian club Napoli for a fee of £22.5 million.

During his debut season at Goodison Park, the 30-year-old, who is currently valued at £19.8 million, made 26 appearances for the Toffees with 24 of them coming in the Premier League (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Barry Cass’ comments on Allan and his future at Everton…

Given how Allan only joined Everton last summer and still has two years left on his current contract, it seems unlikely, in our view, that the club would potentially look to let him go this summer.

Do you expect Allan to be a regular starter next season?

No

Also, considering how the midfielder played 90 minutes in all of Everton’s eight final Premier League games of the season, this shows just how important he was under former manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Moving forward, now that Rafael Benitez is in charge, it will be interesting to see what his plans are for Allan and whether or not he will be a regular starter for them next season.
