Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham would relish playing under Patrick Vieira at Crystal Palace, says former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer.

Palace are the latest English top-flight side to be linked with a move for Abraham, with the Mirror recently reporting that the south London club do have an interest in the player.

Abraham has started pre-season with Chelsea, but his future at Stamford Bridge looks far from certain after being sidelined by Thomas Tuchel last term.

Would you take Abraham at Palace?

It means a move could now be on the cards for the £34.2m-rated 23-year-old, and Palmer believes Palace could be a good fit.

“He’s a London boy, down in London,” the ex-Leeds United star said in an exclusive interview with TIF.

“The likes of Crystal Palace… to go and play for a legend like Patrick Vieira would be a dream come true I’m sure for Tammy. If I was manager of any club in the Premier League or Championship, I’d be on the phone to Chelsea to get him out on loan.”

Christian Benteke, the Eagles’ current first-choice No.9, recently signed a new contract and managed to bag 10 league goals last season.

However, the Belgium’s record prior is patchy, so perhaps it is worth Vieira bringing in another forward like Abraham this summer.
