Speaking on the latest episode of The Done Deal Show, transfer insider Dean Jones claimed that there is a price Aston Villa are prepared to accept from Manchester City for Jack Grealish.

Reports emerged during Euro 2020 that Manchester City were to follow up their interest in Grealish once the tournament was over, with previous reports claiming Pep Guardiola wants to make him the first £100 million Englishman.

Despite Man City’s interest in Grealish, Villa have also made it no secret that they wish to keep their captain, with the club already in contract discussions with him as they attempt to fend off any interest from the Premier League champions.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Football Terrace’s The Done Deal Show, Jones spoke about Grealish’s Villa future.

He said: “The interesting thing here is, publicly, you’ll see Aston Villa are very strong – ‘he’s not for sale, we don’t want to lose Jack Grealish.’

“I’m told that’s not completely true. Behind the scenes, there is an open-mindedness [that] if a ridiculous offer comes in for Jack Grealish, if, for example, it is above the fee that Man United paid for [Paul] Pogba when they set the British transfer record fee, then you have to consider that.

“And you have to consider that the player is obviously going to want to go at that point.”

Jack Grealish quiz: First up, how old is the Villa captain?

Grealish would obviously leave a huge hole in Villa’s side as he topped the charts for expected assists (8.2), as well as both shot and goal-creating actions last season, which earned him enough recognition to be handed his England debut.

During his unfortunate shin injury at the back-end of the last campaign, Villa managed to win just three out of the 14 games he was unable to start, which saw Villa’s brief European dreams diminish.
