Journalist Charles Watts has talked about Aaron Ramsdale and Arsenal’s links with a move for the goalkeeper.
It has been reported in recent days that the Gunners have had a couple of bids rejected for the Sheffield United goalkeeper, and the Blades have made it clear that Arsenal would need to pay a fee of £32million to sign the goalkeeper.
Will Ramsdale play regularly, if joins Arsenal?
Yes
No
Watts talked about Arsenal’s chase of the Englishman when he appeared in the latest video on his YouTube channel. The journalist stated that while the interest in Ramsdale is genuine, he hasn’t heard anything about bids being made by the Gunners.
The journalist said: “There’s lots of talk about Ramsdale. I mean, we know he’s a goalkeeper that Arsenal are interested in – that’s absolutely legit. I’ve seen talk about these two bids being rejected by Sheffield United. I can’t confirm if that’s the case or not because I haven’t heard it.
“I know that there’s interest, but I’m not aware myself that bids have been made for Ramsdale. I think that’s something we’re going to see certainly accelerate in the next couple of weeks, perhaps.”
TIF Thoughts on Ramsdale to Arsenal…
Ramsdale already has loads of experience, having played in the Premier League with Sheffield United and also with Bournemouth, which shows that he may not have too many problems settling in at Arsenal.
Having said that, this can cause dilemmas in Mikel Arteta’s team selection, as Bernd Leno is still at the club and he’s been playing first-team football throughout his time at the Emirates Stadium.
Bringing Ramsdale in for a substantial fee may put pressure on Arteta to play him, and this would lead to dislodging Leno, so if the Englishman does come in, it may be a test of Arteta’s management skills.
