West Bromwich Albion fans have been reacting to claims surrounding goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.
The 28-year-old was certainly kept busy in the Albion net last season, as not only did he concede the most goals in the division, but he also made the most saves of any shot-stopper in the top flight (via FBRef), a damning indictment of the defence that he had in front of him.
But it looks as if clubs were more focused on the latter stat when looking at him, with a number of Premier League clubs reportedly showing an interest in his services.
That interest kicked up a notch recently as according to Dharmesh Sheth on Sky Sports, West Ham United made a £6m bid for the England international, although that was swiftly turned down by the Baggies.
This news was relayed to the fans by @WBAReport, where many of them reacted with great disgust at the idea that West Ham would bid such a low amount for him:
“If we do well and gain promotion he may just stay”
Do you think West Brom should cash in on Sam Johnstone this summer?
Yes
No
With just a year left to go on his contract, it certainly will be interesting to see if West Brom reach a breaking point when it comes to Johnstone and whether or not they will run the risk of losing him for nothing next summer.
