West Bromwich Albion fans have been reacting to claims surrounding the future of defender Kyle Bartley.
The 30-year-old, set to enter his fourth season at the club, has certainly had an eventful time at The Hawthorns since his move from Swansea City in the summer of 2018; reaching the play-off semi-final in his first season at the club, following that up with promotion the next season, with relegation from the top flight in the most recent campaign after that.
He was actually one of West Brom’s best performers in the division last season, ranking fourth in their WhoScored rankings, even though they conceded the most goals in the division.
And his performances clearly did enough to impress some top-flight clubs, with Crystal Palace and Newcastle United reportedly showing an interest in signing him, however according to Birmingham Live, the Baggies are dead against the idea of selling him this window.
This news was relayed to fans by @WBAReport on social media for them to react to, where the news was met with a mixed response. Some fans were happy to see him reportedly set to stay, whilst others felt that he needed to be moved on:
“Made my day”
Do you think West Brom should offer Bartley a new contract?
Yes
No
Although, as the transfer window carries on, there’s still plenty of time for that view to change, especially if someone waves enough money in front of their faces.
