Joe Masi has been discussing the future of Matheus Pereira on the latest episode of Baggies Broadcast.

Reports emerged before West Brom’s relegation into the Championship had even been confirmed that the Baggies were looking to sell Pereira this summer, but the Brazillian still finds himself at The Hawthorns.

Are you confident Pereira will stay at West Brom this summer?

Pereira has seen himself linked with a whole host of Premier League clubs such as West Ham United and Leeds United, but considering he finished the season as West Brom’s top scorer and assister with 11 goals and six assists respectively, there’s no surprise that he has a lot of interested parties.

The Brazilian starred last time West Brom were in the Championship with eight goals and 20 assists, but Masi doesn’t expect him to spend another campaign in England’s second tier.

“We know Pereira wants to leave, of course he wants to leave – 1) he’s a Premier League player; 2) if he goes to the Premier League, he’ll probably double his money.

“Valerien Ismael has said he expects him to leave, he’s basically planning for [being] without him.

“Albion’s transfer budget is going to be significantly different if Matheus Pereira is sold.

“Albion want to sell him; Pereira wants to go.”

West Brom are reportedly wanting to receive £30 million for the Brazilian and with West Ham still only bringing in Craig Dawson this summer so far, they could go all-out for a raid on the Baggies, having made their interest in Sam Johnstone very clear after their £6 million bid being rejected.

It’s little surprise that teams are put off by the £30 million price tag in these uncertain times, but the Brazilian clearly has talent, having scored 54 goals and registered 50 assists during his career.
