West Bromwich Albion fans have turned to social media to react to the latest transfer news and rumours involving their football club.

This follows a report from Bristol Live journalist, Gregor MacGregor, who has suggested that the Baggies are interested in signing former Bristol City striker Famara Diedhiou, who is available on a free transfer.

West Brom-focused Twitter account WBA Report picked up on this, which led to several responses from Baggies fans, who weren’t shy when sharing their feelings on the latest transfer link…

Judging by the responses from Baggies fans, it appears most would want Diedhiou this summer, while others have cited his age and ability as potential drawbacks.

Since joining Bristol City in 2017 from French side Angers for just over £5.4 million, Diedhiou has played over 150 Championship games for the Robins, scoring 46 goals and providing eight assists (as per Transfermarkt).

The 28-year-old scored eight goals in the Championship last season and on a free transfer, could be a very good signing for any club in the second tier of English football if he at least maintains that level of output.

MacGregor suggested that there are no talks between Bristol City and Diedhiou about a new contract, so it seems increasingly likely he will have to find a new club this summer. Time will tell if Diedhiou is to become a new addition for Valerien Ismael’s West Bromwich Albion.
