Sheffield Wednesday fans have turned to Twitter to react to the latest news surrounding Osaze Urhoghide following his move to Celtic.

This comes after the 21-year-old’s move to Celtic was confirmed last week and in the process, Urhoghide became Ange Postecoglou’s first signing since joining the Bhoys.

Wednesday journalist for The Star, Joe Crann, has tweeted that the Owls will receive around £150,000 in training compensation for Urhoghide, despite the youngster leaving on a free transfer.

This was picked up by fans of the Owls, who weren’t shy when sharing their thoughts on the news…

“Cracking talent and the outcome (left for bobbins) of a product of the shambles that has befallen the club.”

“So under £500k for Shaw and Urhoghide… Given the potential, that’s the price you pay for taking a scout from Celtic mid-season when you’ve hired a manager and then sacking the manager and letting the scout run back to Celtic to tell them about the talented prospects “

“Time to stop talking about him now he has gone. We know we have been done over on a fee just need to move on now.”

Judging by the responses to the tweet there are mixed reactions, with many thinking it’s ‘terrible’, whilst others believe it’s better than nothing to receive a small fee for the youngster.

Urhoghide departs the club having played 21 games for the Sheffield Wednesday first team in his career.

The defender, who was born in the Netherlands, is the latest Owl to depart and join Celtic, joining former teammate Liam Shaw, who was announced as a Hoops player earlier in this summer’s transfer window.
