Sheffield Wednesday fans have turned to Twitter to have their say on the latest news involving the Owls.

This comes as Wednesday writer for The Sheffield Star, Alex Miller, tweeted a link to an article of his and captioned it ‘big news.’

The news that Miller was referring to involves Wednesday’s transfer embargo, as Miller reports the club has been ‘released’ from the restrictions imposed on them by the EFL.

This follows the club publishing their accounts earlier this week, which announced a £24 million loss in operating costs and the decision came a month prior to Sheffield Wednesday’s first game of the season in League One against Charlton Athletic.

Fans were quick to give their thoughts on the news…

Judging by the responses from Sheffield Wednesday fans, they are absolutely buzzing with this news as they can now focus on preparing for the new season after a year of misery on and off the pitch.

But finally, things look on the up for Wednesday following this latest news, and it appears as if most of these fans are heading into the new season hoping for better things to come in the transfer market as they bid to escape the third tier at the first attempt.
