Sheffield United supporters have been reacting as John Lundstram’s new club was confirmed.

Lundstram departed the club this summer as his contract came to an end and there was plenty of talk about where the Liverpudlian would end up next, before it was confirmed that Scottish champions Rangers had announced the signing on the club’s Twitter page.

This was picked up by Sheffield United focused account, the Bladesman and fans were quick to respond to the news.

Judging by the responses to the tweet, many Sheffield United fans are happy to see the back of Lundstram and suggest that Rangers fans shouldn’t have high hopes after the signing.

The 27-year-old saw his contract out at the Blades after joining the club from Oxford United in 2017.

His first season in the Premier League with the Blades was a good one as he became a bit of a Fantasy League legend as he racked up five goals and three assists in 34 appearances, but he failed to score in 28 Premier League appearances last season, as Sheffield United were relegated after finishing bottom of the league.

For Lundstram, joining Rangers – who will be playing in the Champions League next season – seems like a good career move, and with Blades fans also seemingly satisfied with his departure, it appears to be a good deal for all parties.
