A whole host of Leeds United fans have flocked to Twitter as they react to the possibility of landing Freddie Woodman this summer.

The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that Victor Orta has identified three goalkeepers that he will target as a replacement for Kiko Casilla, who has joined Elche.

The biggest name on the list is Newcastle United ‘keeper Woodman, who helped Swansea City reach the play-off final last season but now has Martin Dubravka and Karl Darlow ahead of him in the pecking order at Newcastle.

The other two ‘keepers mentioned are Dani Cárdenas and Kristoffer Klaesson, who play for Levante and Vålerenga respectively – with the latter having interested Leeds since 2019.

Many Leeds fans have reacted positively on Twitter to the news of Orta potentially targeting Woodman.

What have these Leeds fans had to say?

“Woodman would be superb. He’s brilliant. Should be a no.1. Can’t speak for the other two so much”

“Woodman would be a fantastic signing but can’t see Newcastle wanting to let him go”

“Freddie Woodman would be top-drawer as a backup ‘keeper”

@Seanrh11

“Take Woodman any day of the week”

@DLOB17

“Woodman would be a decent signing, don’t want a another GK from La Liga, though.”

@ConnorMOT92

“Ta, Graham. Like Woodman quite a bit, but not sure how attainable he is, since Leeds cannot offer him a starting spot.”

Leeds have had some odd players over the last ten years but how well do you remember them. Starting with the most recent one, who is this?

If Leeds were able to tempt Newcastle into selling Woodman this summer it would be a massive coup for the Whites, with Arsenal also credited with an interest in the 24-year old.

Woodman’s father, Andy Woodman, has admitted in a previous interview that one of his son’s main aims is to become the number one at Newcastle United considering he has been with the club since 2013, but if he sees his path blocked, then a move away may be the best option for his career.
