Leeds United presenter Joe Wainman has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of the Yorkshire club making a move to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore this summer.

This comes after Wainman recently uploaded a video onto his YouTube channel, where he spoke about the latest news topics concerning Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

Leeds' all-time top Premier League goalscorer is Mark Viduka but how many did he score?

After it was recently reported by 90Min that Leeds are “considering a summer transfer bid” for Traore this summer, Wainman had this to say on the matter, as other reports claimed the club are also interested in signing Manchester United winger Dan James.

He said: “I just think the potential of Dan James being such a young lad, I think there’s more in that – but Adama Traore would be expensive and his wages would be astronomical.

“I’m not sure if he’s the one, but he continues to be linked and I know when he does get linked, I get a lot of messages, a lot of fans excited by the potential of Adama Traore coming to Leeds United.

“I just don’t see it myself.”

Wolves signed Traore back in the 2018 summer transfer window from Championship club Middlesbrough.

Since then, the 25-year-old, who is currently valued at £27 million, has made 131 appearances for the Old Gold across all competitions in which he has scored 10 goals and provided 18 assists in the process (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Joe Wainman’s comments on a potential move for Traore…

Given how Traore managed to end the 2020/21 season as Wolves’ joint-highest-rated player alongside Pedro Neto with an overall performance rating of 7.11/10 according to WhoScored, it’s understandable why Leeds are reportedly interested in bringing the Spaniard to Elland Road this summer, especially since there has previously been issues over a potential new contract at Molineux for the winger.

Who would you rather see Leeds sign this summer?

In our view, if what Wainman said about Traore’s transfer fee and wages potentially being rather high prove to be obstacles for Bielsa’s side, then perhaps Leeds should move on from the winger – especially if he may not be guaranteed regular playing time ahead of some of Leeds’ current wingers such as Raphinha and Jack Harrison.

On that basis alone, you can see why Wainman has his doubts over this potential transfer.
