Leeds United fans have been reacting to the latest news and rumours involving the Whites.

This comes after Daily Mirror northern football writer David Anderson tweeted to announce that Leeds United goalkeeper Kiko Casilla is leaving the club on loan to join La Liga side Elche.

According to Anderson, an option to buy is included in the deal so long as both the Spanish club and Casilla choose to exercise the deal.

Fans were quick to respond to the news and weren’t shy in showing their feelings on the news…

Judging by the responses, Leeds fans are happy to see the back of the Spanish goalkeeper.

Young French goalkeeper Illan Meslier has been preferred over the Spaniard since Leeds came up to the Premier League following their 16-year absence from the English top flight.

Casilla’s time in England was surrounded by controversy as he was suspended for eight games in 2020 after being found guilty of making racist comments towards Jonathan Leko, who was on loan at Charlton Athletic. At the time, Casilla felt the support of Marcelo Bielsa, who refused to publicly criticise his goalkeeper, but there was a lot of criticism from supporters, who are now glad to see the back of him.
