David Norris reckons that Leeds should be all over Matheus Pereira if he’s available for only £15m.
The Brazilian winger was West Brom’s standout player in the Premier League last season, but after their immediate return to the second-tier, Pereira has been strongly linked with a Baggies exit – just 12 months after joining permanently.
Would this be a good move for Leeds?
Yes
No
Several top-flight sides are set to battle it out for his signature, and according to TEAMtalk, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are one of those, with Leeds looking to build on their ninth-place finish last season.
Pereira scored 11 times in the league in 2020-2021, outdoing the likes of Raheem Sterling, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Edinson Cavani, to name a few.
With West Brom looking for just £15m, which is an extremely generous fee in the current market, Norris exclusively told This is Futbol that it would be money well spent from Leeds’ point of view:
“If you’re scoring goals in a relegated team, when it’s hard enough to create chances, then you’re doing something right – £15m is nothing.
“We spoke about Leeds and their budget, but £15m for a player that scores goals in a struggling team makes sense.”
