Derby County fans have been reacting to the latest news and rumours involving the football club.

This comes as the club’s official Twitter account announced that Jake Buxton will be returning to the club as an academy coach, where he will now work full-time having been appointed as Professional Development Phase Coach for the Rams.

It’s a return to Derby for Buxton, who also did his coaching badges at the club and is therefore well-known to many involved within the academy at the Rams.

Fans were quick to share their thoughts on the appointment…

Judging from the responses, Derby fans are absolutely delighted to have Buxton back with a role at the club.

Buxton played for Derby County between 2009 and 2016 before joining Wigan Athletic on a free transfer. During his seven years at the club, the centre-back appeared 159 times for the Rams and scored 13 times.

The 36-year-old started his managerial career when he took over from Nigel Clough as manager of Burton Albion, but his reign there didn’t last long as he was sacked after less than a season in charge.
