Dean Windass has alleged that Aston Villa may have already agreed to sell talisman Jack Grealish.

Grealish has been heavily linked with leaving his boyhood club this summer, with Premier League champions Manchester City reportedly readying a £100million bid.

The attacking midfielder was England’s poster boy at Euro 2020 and played a key role as Gareth Southgate’s side reached the final.

During Grealish’s time on international duty, Villa boss Dean Smith has been strengthening his squad with the club-record signing of Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City and Ashley Young’s return.

Villa have also seen two bids, with the latest valued at £30million, rejected for Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe.

Smith has been linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Winks and Southampton set-piece specialist James Ward-Prowse too.

Windass believes Smith’s insistence to strengthen his midfield options may indicate there has been a secret agreement to allow Grealish to leave.

Speaking exclusively to TIF, Windass said: “They’re going in for players like Smith Rowe, so do they know something we don’t? Maybe the deal has already been done for Jack.

“They’ll have a lot of players on the list if they do lose Jack and will Dean Smith then have the money to spend if Jack does go?”
