Alasdair Gold has been speaking on a Facebook Live video for Football.london to discuss all things related to Tottenham Hotspur.

One topic of discussion was the expected appointment of Fabio Paratici as the new director of football at the north London club.

Will a director of football benefit Spurs?

Yes

Yes

No

No

This news comes just days after a move for manager Antonio Conte reportedly fell through with both parties unable to agree on specific terms.

However, Gold insisted this would not affect the appointment of Paratici, who is expected to have a big say in the club’s ongoing search to fill their vacant managerial role.

Paratici’s contract with Serie A giants Juventus will not be renewed when it runs out at the end of this month following an 11-season stint with the Old Lady.

Discussing the Italian’s reported future with Tottenham, Gold had the following to say on the matter.

He said: “Let’s start with some good news, in terms of it looks like former Juventus sporting director, Fabio Paratici is going to be joining the club in the hopefully near future.

“He held his press conference to talk about his departure from Juventus, I think it was Friday. And he’s expected to join up with Tottenham once I presume there’s some kind of little period I don’t know if he has to serve first with Juventus.”

TIF Thoughts on Paratici’s expected appointment…

The first thing which Paratici is expected to be tasked with doing if he is to be appointed is the ongoing search for a new manager given Steve Hitchen’s shortlist has not come to any fruition.

However, we question whether Paratici will be able to slot into the role at Spurs and be able to identify a manager which will be in line with what the fans want?

Daniel Levy will undoubtedly have the final say on the matter but if Paratici does join, he is certainly being thrown in at the deep end with the task of finding the next Spurs manager.
