Sunderland fans have been reacting to the latest news and rumours surrounding the Black Cats.

This comes as the club’s official Twitter account tweeted an image of Arbenit Xhemajli back on the grass as he steps up his recovery following a serious injury he picked up in October.

The 23-year-old hasn’t played since picking up a knee injury whilst on international duty with Kosovo over nine months ago, having signed for Sunderland last summer on a two-year deal after departing Neuchatel Xamax of Switzerland on a free transfer.

The young centre-back, who can also play in defensive midfield, had only made one first-team appearance for the Black Cats prior to his injury, which came during an 8-1 win in the Papa John’s Trophy against Aston Villa U21s.

The post gathered a number of responses from Sunderland fans keen to see him in action…

Judging by the reactions to the tweet, many Sunderland supporters are buzzed to see Xhemajli in action.

Sunderland fans will hope that the Kosovan international can return to full fitness and be ready for the new season to help the club gain promotion to the Championship next term.
