Dean Windass has told This is Futbol that the Australian connection means he wouldn’t be surprised to see Aaron Mooy end up at Celtic this summer.

Following the recent appointment of Ange Postecoglou, the Scottish giants have already been linked to several Aussie players, one of which being Mooy.

Mooy impressed heavily during his spells with both Huddersfield and Brighton but swapped the Premier League for the Chinese Super League back in August and has been playing his football in the Far East ever since.

The midfielder had been a key part of the Huddersfield side that were promoted to the top-flight and then avoided relegation, only leaving for Brighton following the Terries’ relegation.

Mooy has worked under Postecoglou previously during the latter’s spell as manager of the Australian national team, and Windass exclusively told This is Futbol that he could see the pair linking up at Parkhead this summer:

“The Mooy one would interest them. He was at Huddersfield, he’s got a little bit of pace, he’ll get you a goal, set-pieces and gets forward from midfield. So, the affinity with Australia, I could see that happening.”

Mooy has gone off the radar since leaving Huddersfield, but showed during his spell in Yorkshire that he can score goals from midfield, has a lovely right-foot and having performed so well in the Premier League, Celtic could do far worse.
