It was a difficult season for Celtic last year as they were unable to secure their tenth successive league title, losing out to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, who went the entire campaign unbeaten. Having finished in second, Celtic’s season under new manager, Ange Postecoglou, therefore starts as early as mid-July.

As for FC Midtjylland, the Danish side made it through to the group stages of the Champions League last season and are looking to do it for the second year in a row.

With multiple rounds to navigate, Postecoglou has got a difficult task ahead if Celtic are to make it to the group stages of the competition for the first time since the 2017/18 season, when the Bhoys found themselves in the same group as Bayern Munich and PSG.
