Transfer expert Dean Jones has been speaking on the latest edition of Touchline Talk to discuss Celtic’s ongoing manager search.

Last week, it was reported talks between Eddie Howe and Celtic had fallen through following months of speculation tipping the Englishman as the favourite for the Parkhead job.

Would you be happy with being appointed?

Since the news broke, former Australia manager Ange Postecoglou has emerged as the new favourite to fill the Celtic vacancy.

The Bhoys have been without a permanent manager since Neil Lennon’s second stint at the club came to an end back in February.

Discussing the reported Celtic favourite, Jones had the following to say on what he has been told about Postecoglou:

“I mean, from what I’m told, he’s quite a grumpy guy anyway, and he doesn’t ever come across very happy even when things are going well for him.”

TIF Thoughts on Postecoglou…

We feel appointing Postecoglou will come as a huge disappointment to the Celtic faithful. After months of reports surrounding Howe, it seems they are going to end up with a manager currently working in the Japanese top flight.

Celtic fans may look to their bitter rivals Rangers as a source of optimism given they appointed Steven Gerrard, who had less experience than Postecoglou and has worked wonders across the city.

It seems a big ask for Postecoglou to come into the job at Parkhead and excite both the fans and the players, but Celtic fans may just be happy to see this manager saga come to an end – regardless of who is hired.
