Journalist Francis Leach has talked about Ange Postecoglou’s potential vision at Celtic and what he’d demand from the club and the players if he was to take over.

This came after Leach appeared on the latest episode of the Record Celtic podcast and was asked about numerous things involving Postecoglou, who is said to be in talks with a move to Celtic.

Leach talked about the vision that Postecoglou may have for the Parkhead-based side. The journalist said that the Australian will have a rich understanding of Celtic and he’ll demand players to be responsible for the club’s shirt.

It has been stated that potential sporting director Fergal Harkin has recommended Postecoglou to Celtic, with the duo having worked together through their respective associations with clubs within the City Group.

Leach talked about Postecoglou’s approach, stating: “I think Celtic fans will find that if he is indeed announced as manager, then he will have a very rich understanding of the long, storied and important cultural history of the club.

“And he will make that very much a priority to protect, to nurture and to celebrate. And anyone who pulls on that famous shirt will have to understand the responsibility if they’re going to play for Celtic, and it’s something that he will make sure that is central to his understanding of what being a Celtic player is.”

TIF Thoughts on Postecoglou’s Celtic vision…

The Australian has been flexible with formations at Yokohama F Marinos but one thing has remained common – building out from the back and playing attacking football. He has also won a fair amount of trophies in his career at club and national level.

With Celtic relinquishing their place at the top of Scottish football after their calamitous season, as much as hiring Postecoglou may be a risk given he has only briefly managed in Europe, it may be one worth taking because of his record and playing style.
