Australian journalist Francis Leach has talked about Ange Postecoglou’s potential transfers at Celtic, if he does join the club.

Leach appeared as a guest on the latest episode of the Record Celtic podcast and the Australian journalist talked about numerous issues involving Ange Postecoglou and his potential move to Celtic.

He was asked about Postecoglou’s approach in the transfer market and how he could make moves in the market at Celtic. The journalist talked about how the Yokohama F Marinos boss spends a lot of time scouting players from abroad.

Do you expect Celtic to make many transfers this summer?

Alan Thompson has recently stated that Celtic might have to make a lot of transfers in the summer and there’ll be players that Postecoglou will want to be moved on.

Leach though, expressed his doubts over the fact that the Australian may pick up some players from the A-League.

He stated (15:52): “He’d be trusting the eyes and ears of the Celtic scouts to tell him what’s available, but he’s also got an extensive network in Europe and you’ve got to remember that as Socceroos manager, he used to spend a lot of time watching our overseas players playing in all sorts of leagues, including coming to Scotland to watch the likes of Ryan McGowan, seeing the SPL to see how they were tracking before being selected for World Cup and Socceroos duties.

“So he had those networks, those networks are in place for him already all over Europe. He’d be tapping into that, he’s been in the game for a very long time. I doubt that he’d be coming to the A-League to pick players.”

TIF Thoughts on Postecoglou’s transfers…

Postecoglou had arrived at Yokohama in February 2018 and before the current season, they had signed over ten players. Even before the start of the previous campaign, the J-League club had signed multiple players in the market.

This shows that Postecoglou is no stranger to working at clubs that make multiple transfers in the same window. Considering that Celtic are about to go an overhaul, they might be doing that soon. But by the looks of things, Postecoglou is no stranger to that and he’d probably adapt to that.
