Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph has recently talked about Ange Postecoglou’s potential backroom team at Celtic.
Postecoglou has been appointed as the Celtic manager and the Australian has signed a 12-month rolling contract at the club. He is now in quarantine for ten days before he takes charge of the first team.
Joseph talked about Postecoglou when he appeared on the latest episode of the Only As Good As Your Last Game podcast. One topic of discussion was the Australian’s backroom staff at Celtic and what Postecoglou will do with regards to that.
Do you expect Kennedy to be part of Postecoglou's staff?
The journalist stated that nothing has been decided on that front yet and while Postecoglou wants some of his people at Celtic, Gavin Strachan and John Kennedy haven’t been told about their futures.
He said: “Nothing’s been decided on the backroom team. I think Ange does want some of his guys, depends on what kind of role they’ll be in. Certainly, Kennedy and Strachan haven’t been told anything yet and neither have the other guys that Ange has been wanting in.”
TIF Thoughts on Postecoglou’s staff…
Kennedy has been part of the club’s setup for many years now and in a season of transition, having someone closely connected to Celtic could be a vital part of the backroom team – especially for a new manager.
So Postecoglou will have decisions to make but they would need to be made as soon as possible, because the Hoops play their Champions League qualifiers for next season within a couple of months.
