West Ham fans will be expecting the worst but hoping for the best in terms of Declan Rice’s future at the London Stadium, but if he does remain with the Hammers then an ideal partner for him could be Yangel Herrera, according to La Liga expert, Euan McTear.
Herrera has spent this season, like the previous two campaigns, out on loan but his parent club remains Manchester City.

“I think that Herrera’s first instinct is always to pass it forward and run forward as he is that kind of player so, if he’s alongside someone who can protect him a bit then that would be perfect.
“If he was able to have some time to build and form a partnership with Rice then that could be pretty good.”
Rice was a man mountain for West Ham last season having only missed Premier League matches due to an injury, which he picked up while on international duty with England.
West Ham will be confident that Rice will want to stay at least one more season at the London Stadium so he can lead the Hammers out as captain in the Europa League.
