Stuart Pearce has revealed that he has been offered a role to remain at West Ham United – but appeared to claim that his future depends on what happens with David Moyes, amid talk Everton could be eyeing a return for their former boss.

Moyes, who’s already had one stint in the manager’s role at Goodison Park,  enjoyed a successful campaign with the Hammers as he guided them to Europa League football. It was reported that Everton had been looking at potentially bringing Moyes back to Goodison Park but Stuart Pearce has revealed on TalkSport that he and Moyes have been offered new contracts by the club, and discussions are underway.

Here’s what he had to say on David Moyes’ future:

“Well, he’s certainly speaking with the club now, I think for all intents and purposes, he’s agreed and the club have agreed to extend his contract, as such. Until certainly, David agrees his contract, it follies me making any sort of movements towards signing a contract at the club.

“The club made me an offer, which I’m very grateful for. But I’ve not spoken with them in regard to agreeing a contract because, you know, my allegiance is with David in many ways, because he was the one that brought me to the club.”

TIF Thoughts on Moyes staying at West Ham…

All things considered, it looks like it could be the right decision for the former Manchester United manager to stay put in London, despite the prospect of a return to Everton mooted recently.

Having guided West Ham into the Europa League for the first time since 2016, it could be a nice project for Moyes to carry out, with his side just falling short of a place in the UEFA Champions League, Moyes would surely want to see if his side could go one better next season rather than jump ship for a return to Merseyside.
