Watford fans have been reacting on Twitter to the latest transfer news surrounding their football club.

This comes after the club’s official Twitter account tweeted to announce that a deal has been reached between Watford and Belgian side Club Brugge for the transfer of young striker Emmanuel Dennis.

Watford fans were quick to respond to the tweet with their thoughts and feelings on the club’s new signing…

“That came from nowhere! Certainly potential there being only 23. His recent form isn’t the most promising but another forward addition which is good to see. Welcome Emmanuel”

Judging by the responses, Watford supporters are thrilled with the signing of Dennis.

The replies also show that Hornets supporters are also buzzing by the nature of the signing, with the fact that it appeared to go under the radar with no reports.

The Nigerian centre-forward is capable of playing anywhere across the front three and joins Watford for a fee of around £3.6million (as per Transfermarkt) after enduring a tough loan spell at Koln in Germany at the end of the season, where he failed to score in nine league games there.

23-year-old Dennis is perhaps most known for scoring a brace in the Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu in 2019 but has also had attitude problems in the past, which may worry Watford fans.

Dennis was once dropped during his time at Club Brugge as he refused to get on the team bus after storming off over the fact that he wasn’t allowed to pick where he could sit.

Watford fans will hope that Dennis is an inspired signing who can keep the Golden Boys in the Premier League.
