Many Tottenham fans have been reacting to the latest news and rumours surrounding their club this morning on Twitter.
Tottenham-focused Twitter account @TranSPURS relayed a report from TuttoMercatoWeb that states Spurs’ director of football Fabio Paratici is interested in bringing Schalke, and former Liverpool loanee, Ozan Kabak to north London this summer.
Kabak spent the second half of the season on loan at Anfield, playing nine times in the Premier League as he helped Liverpool finish third in the Premier League and qualify for the Champions League.
However, Liverpool have not opted to exercise the option in his loan deal as they instead pursued a deal for RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate instead.
Here is how fans of Spurs reacted to the links:
So, with Kabak being linked with a move to Tottenham, how exactly did some of the fans react?
“Dreadful”
Judging by the reaction of some of the Spurs fans on Twitter, it seems as if they wouldn’t be too happy if Kabak was brought to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
According to WhoScored, Kabak averaged a 6.72/10 match rating during his nine Premier League games with Liverpool, which is slightly below current Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, who averaged 6.86 over the course of his 25 Premier League games last season.
Despite just falling short of Alderweireld’s standards, it seems that many Tottenham fans want Paratici to avoid the £22.5million-rated defender and look elsewhere when it comes to recruiting a new centre-back for the Spurs squad next season.
