Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been speaking on his latest YouTube video regarding the club’s search for a new manager.

According to reports, former Inter Milan manager Conte is set to become the next permanent manager of Tottenham.

Would Conte last longer than two years at Spurs?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, Gold has been discussing some of the potential drawbacks Spurs may encounter if they are to appoint the 51-year-old Italian.

Just over a week ago, Conte resigned from his managerial role with the newly-crowned champions of Italy as a result of a reported butting of heads with the Inter board over their transfer plans for this summer.

The Italian manager spent some time managing Chelsea and despite success on the pitch, he only lasted two years with the west London side.

Discussing the potential difficulties Spurs may encounter with Conte, Gold had the following to say when discussing whether Conte and Levy will be able to work well together.

That’s what I’m going to find fascinating, probably more than anything about it. I think we said this with [Jose] Mourinho, we said how’s he going to gel with Daniel Levy, that’s going to be so key.

“And from everything you hear about Conte – those above him, he will eventually fall out with, and often within the year to 18 months. It doesn’t take long.”

TIF Thoughts on Conte to Spurs…

We feel the potential appointment of Conte is an incredibly important one for Daniel Levy to get right.

Spurs now find themselves having finished outside of the top six in the Premier League for the first time in 12 years, so on-pitch matters need to improve.

However, can Conte do what Jose Mourinho was unable to do and provide a quick fix because as Gold mentions, he is not a man who typically sticks around for a long time.

If Conte is to join and it does not work out, then where does Levy’s future at Spurs lie?
