Spurs have been heavily linked with the former Roma manager amid the appointment of their new director of football, Fabio Paratici.

The north London club have been without a permanent manager since April, but have been linked with a long list of potential candidates and it seems the search may be coming to an end.

Spurs fans flocked to a tweet from The Spurs Web relaying Romano’s claim and it was clear to see the news did not go down well at all.

What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Not one single Spurs fan cares about this announcement. Feels like such a backup to the backup of a choice.”

Fonseca was the Roma manager from July 2019 after making the move from Shakhtar Donetsk and is to be replaced by the former Spurs manager, Jose Mourinho (via Transfermarkt).

Going by the reaction of these Tottenham fans, it is clear to see they are not impressed by the claim Fonseca is set to become their new permanent manager, with many feeling it will be an underwhelming appointment.
