Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest news surrounding the possibility of Antonio Conte being appointed as the north London club’s new permanent manager.

This comes after Spurs-focused Twitter account @HotspurRelated shared a post on their page relaying news originally published in an article from The Telegraph.

Starting with a current Tottenham star. How many PL goals has Harry Kane scored for Spurs?

The article claims that Conte wants assurances from Tottenham that he will be given sufficient funds to sign new players and re-shape the existing squad if he is to potentially become their new permanent manager.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Tottenham supporters, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on this latest claim.

So, what did these Spurs fans have to say in response to this latest claim about Conte?

“Time for Levy to step up!!”

@kaneszn1

“Well that’s him ruled out then”

@AlexGrayburn

“This is where the cookie crumbles and everyone’s hopes die”

@FernTHFC

“Well it was a nice dream while it lasted…”

@dlthepolice

“He won’t be joining then if that’s true”

@MattDixon_7

“Well deal is off”

@jakeconstable09

“This is where it will fall apart”

@ZakGriffin4

Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that the majority of these Spurs fans are of the belief that club chairman Daniel Levy will not give Conte these reported assurances over the funds at the club, and therefore, the Italian will not be appointed as the club’s new permanent manager.

Do you think Levy would give Conte assurances over funds and transfers?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, with Spurs spending a significant amount of money during the previous summer transfer window on numerous new players, it doesn’t seem a certainty that Levy would be unwilling to spend much money this time around, so perhaps this group of Tottenham fans are overreacting.
