Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to a claim by Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari about the club’s search for a new manager.

Having been without a permanent manager for over two months now following the departure of Jose Mourinho in April, Spurs are yet to appoint a successor to the Portuguese boss, and face the prospect of heading into pre-season with interim boss Ryan Mason still in charge of the first team.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

Having failed with approaching a number of candidates, it would appear as if they are going back to square one. Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter was mentioned as a possibility in the early stages, with the club’s Director of Technical Performance, Steve Hitchens, reportedly a big admirer of his.

According to Longari, stating via his Twitter account, Spurs have had ‘positive first contacts’ with Potter over taking on the role. This news was relayed to fans via @LastWordOnSpurs on Twitter for fans to react to, and there were plenty of them who seem happy with the claims:

“Finally an actual candidate.. make no mistake five years’ time with fans back maybe dream bigger but right now this is a good choice and a reality check that Spurs need”
“Great choice for where we are at”
“Potter fits the bill. Progressive, attack-minded. He’s unproven on this level, but I think he would do a great job. Reminds me a bit of Poch when we brought him in from the Saints.”
“Could be worth a shot, I say go for it”
“It’s about time.”
“Please be true”

Is Graham Potter good enough for Spurs?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Having previously been linked with the likes of former Premier League winner Antonio Conte, to then hear this news about someone whose highest ranking in the top flight is 15th does seem a little bit underwhelming.

However, it appears as if these Spurs fans are well up for Potter coming.
