Tottenham Hotspur have long held an interest in Milan Skriniar and after some solid performances for Slovakia at the Euros this summer, that interest may have only grown stronger.

And Spurs legend, Graham Roberts, believes that his former club must go all out to bring him to north London.

The main problem for Spurs now is that with Skriniar winning Serie A with Inter Milan and now performing on a huge stage like the Euros, many more clubs will be looking to sign the Slovakia international this summer, but Tottenham do reportedly still have hopes of bringing him to the Premier League.

Should Spurs sign Skriniar?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

It’s very obvious that Tottenham need not just a new centre back, but a true leader who is also a colossus on the pitch, and 6ft 2in Skriniar would be a perfect fit for Spurs. It remains to be seen if they are able to afford him without selling someone like Harry Kane, though.

Skriniar would certainly help towards fixing Spurs’ defensive issues  – they conceded 45 goals last season – so it would make sense for them to go all out for an internationally proven defender this summer, which is something Roberts urged Spurs to do in an exclusive chat with This is Futbol:

I think Skriniar would be an absolute banker of a signing for me and we also need another centre back and a right back but across the rest of the pitch, we’re okay. So, spend the money on two centre backs and a right back.

“If it costs £120-130 million for that, then just go and do it because you should be able to get two decent centre backs and a decent right back for that.”

Skriniar would also be able to aid the development of young centre back Joe Rodon, who has also impressed at the Euros as Wales qualified for the Round of 16.

With Inter Milan reportedly in financial difficulties, they may be more willing to sell someone like Skriniar for a lower price this summer.
